Come, join, the "God's work, Our hands" people of Reformation! Whether in-person or online, your presence will add to the singing and other liturgy ("work of the people") that occurs during worship on Sundays at 10:00 a.m. In-person, please stay for coffee hour, lunch-packing, or whatever the congregation is "up to" that day. Online, please leave a comment before minister finishes their message (if you do that, we will acknowledge you by name a few minutes later). Also online, feel free to use the comment feature to interact with one another as well as the camera operator. Check-out the rest of this website to learn about our local outreach projects and other ways to connect and contribute. The Lord be with y'all!
- Pastor Lois
Our campus is at 460 Old Polk City Road in Lakeland, Florida. Our driveway is at the intersection of OPCR and Egret.
Weekly worship is at 10:00 a.m. on Sundays. Special services, such as Christmas Eve, are typically at 4:00 p.m.
(please check our website and Facebook page for updates).
There are 4 designated handicapped spots near the portico (the drive-through drop-off by the front doors). Additional paved parking is behind the main building, but most people like to park informally under the trees or on the grass near the fellowship hall (the white building with a wheelchair ramp).
Our "kids ministry" is to encourage them to fully engage in worship and other aspects of Christian community, including age-appropriate participation roles. Since most of our members are "55+" our pastor will work directly with your family on faith formation matters, especially preparation for baptism, first communion, and confirmation (affirmation of baptism).
Someone will greet you in the narthex (lobby). First-time visitors are offered a "connect card" to fill-out. Bulletins (printed programs) will be on a table near the interior door to the worship space. "Gathering, Word, Meal, and Sending" is the basic rhythm of the service. Just follow-along and do what other people do! We practice open communion; if you choose to not participate, the bulletin has a prayer for you to consider using instead. You can stand or kneel at the communion rail, or you can ask the usher to have the minister offer you communion at your seat. Over the course of the service, there will be three songs for everyone to sing (either printed in the bulletin or in one of the books near your seat). After worship, there is usually "coffee hour" or some other optional activity.

Online, send an e-mail to lovinglutherans@gmail.com for the office to forward to the group leader (committee chairperson). In-person, sign-up using one of the two 3-ring binders in the narthex (lobby). Most importantly, say "yes" if someone asks you to join!
In-person, go to the narthex (lobby). There are clipboards to sign-up for monthly and special opportunities. There are also two 3-ring binders, one of which is to sign-up for worship assistant roles and other date-specific opportunities. Online for now, or not sure how you would like to get involved? Send an e-mail to lovinglutherans@gmail.com, and someone in the office will connect you to someone who can help you.
